What does a dream date look like to you?
For Sami Miró, it’s not a candlelit dinner for two. Or, at least, it’s not necessarily that.
With The Date Edit – the second chapter of Sami’s &Co.LLABORATION with MAX&Co. – the LA-based designer, creative director and founder of Sami Miró Vintage makes a modern proposition for what dates can, and should, be. A celebration of the fluidity of relationships in many different forms and guises, in the world according to Sami, dates can be between friends, colleagues, boyfriends, girlfriends. They can even be a moment of connection with yourself.
But however a date looks, with her new &Co.LLABORATION, Sami emphasises making an occasion of them. Here, you’ll find perfect looks for everything from the first date to the anniversary dinner, solo nights to big girls’ get-togethers. Welcome to the new non-cliché look of love.
Because a date can happen at any moment, the collection shifts between special pieces and everyday ones. Central pillars of The Date Edit are crinkled leather and cool-girl denim. Echoing the MAX & Match sensibility at the core of MAX&Co, they toughen up the collection’s more obviously pretty elements, like diaphanous lace and fluid crepe. Viscose-jersey vests in punchy colours and lightweight scuba jersey separates are a pertinent reminder that a date could well happen in the gym or park.
Tailoring also plays a key role. Inspired by men’s suiting – and calling on the deconstructed aesthetic Sami’s renowned for – tailored separates are given an unexpected twist. See the halterneck waistcoat, waterfall-hem blazer, and hybrid-tie shirt.
Of course, there’s still place for a swish of modern romance. Fluid silk twill and crepe ruffle-trimmed blouses and handkerchief dresses acquire soft edge with muted animalier prints. Meanwhile, delicate lace is applied not just to fluttering shirts and skirts but also to a fresh take on the signature MAX&Co. logo T-shirt. Overlaid with fine black lace, the limited-edition design transitions seamlessly between dressing up and down.
And finally, whatever your relationship status, reliable plus ones are found in the collection’s accessories including a book bag in ultra-soft chocolate-colored nappa leather, and a mule that mirrors the lace and eyelet detailing seen in the collection’s shirting.
The Date Edit is available from June 2026 in store and online at maxandco.com
