IKEA UAE is celebrating Philippines Independence Day, marked on June 12, with a vibrant, flavour-packed collaboration with award-winning Filipino chef,JP Anglo. From June 12 to 17, IKEA Restaurants across the UAE will host Filipino-themed days, serving up a mouth-watering selection of traditional favourites, curated by Chef JP Anglo himself. Additionally, customers can bring the taste of the Philippines home with a new selection of chilled and frozen Filipino dishes, also developed in collaboration with Chef JP, available in the Swedish Food Market.”
A Filipino Feast for All
The IKEA Restaurant will feature a Filipino buffet spread showcasing beloved national dishes, with prices starting from 7 AED. Breakfast options include comforting Chicken Arroz Caldo, Filipino-style Spaghetti, and Rice Sticks Bihon Noodles. For the main course, dig into Tilapia Escabeche,Bistek Tagalog,Beef Kare Kare, and BBQ Chicken, priced between AED 25 and AED 39. Soup and salad stations will also be available, serving Chicken SotanghonSoup, Ensalatang Talon, and Filipino Pasta Salad. To round off the meal on a sweet note, guests can indulge in thefavourite Buko Pandan.
Bringing the Flavours Home
To bring a taste of the Philippines home, the Swedish Food Market will stock a curated selection of Filipino dishes, developed in collaboration with Chef JP Anglo. Under the chilled section, customers can grab Abaca Beef Kare-Kare and Abaca Chicken BBQ (AED 19). The frozen food range includes family-sized favourites like Beef Brisket Caldereta, Chicken Barbecue, Chicken Bicol Express, and Chicken Sisig (AED 35).

Food enthusiasts will have the chance to meet Chef JP Anglo in person during a special appearance at IKEA Festival City on June 12 at 12 PM. A renowned culinary talent on a mission to bring Filipino flavours to the global stage, Chef JP is celebrated for his acclaimed restaurants in the Philippines and now in Dubai. His Kooya Filipino Eatery in Dubai Marina has quickly become a local favourite. Guests are invited to a meet-and-greet where the chef will share insights into this unique collaboration and the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines.
