Back-to-school shopping has never been better in Dubai where Majid Al Futtaim’s malls are running a host of fun kids activities and unbeatable promotions prior to the start of the new school term.
Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Al Shindagha have everything the kids need to get prepped to go back to class from stationary, gym kits, lunch boxes, school bags, hair accessories to shoes and more. Parents can avail from unbeatable promotions on school gear from mall retailers such as Shoe Mart, Skechers, Sanrio (Hello Kitty), Jashanmal Around the World, Samsonite, Virgin Mega Store, Jumbo Electronics and Forever 21.
Preparing for the start of the school year isn’t just about shopping at the malls. At City Centre Deira kids can get their thinking caps on at the mall’s workshops. Parents who shop for AED 300 or more in the mall can take part in Spectacular Science Workshops, an innovative ‘gamification’ concept that is both educational and fun. Children will learn about such concepts as environmental protection, computer programming and more during dazzling daily demonstrations led by a quirky ‘mad scientist’. Running from September 3 – 9 the exhilarating interactive sessions will cover a different topic each day, and youngsters are encouraged to return to the mall to experience more than one. Each participant will produce work to take home and receive a ‘science starter kit’ containing a lab apron, a pair of safety goggles and materials to be used during the workshop he or she signed up for.
“Majid Al Futtaim is leading the way in retail with its innovative gamification concepts, and families who choose its malls for their back-to-school shop will find heaps of entertainment alongside the generous sales promotions,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Managing Director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Shopping Malls (UAE, Bahrain & Oman).
“From our Spectacular Science Workshops this month to our recent emoji® virtual reality challenge, we are embracing state-of-the-art technology to deliver great moments for everyone, every day.”
There are plenty opportunities to win as City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif are running a back-to-school prize draw from August 13 – September 9. Each day, one lucky person will win an AED 5,000 voucher at City Centre Mirdif and AED2,000 to spend on school gear at City Centre Deira. To enter, visitors at City Centre Mirdif must shop for AED300, while at City Centre Deira customers must shop for at least AED 200 on fashion – or AED 300 at any store – and head to either mall’s customer services desk to redeem their receipts for raffle tickets.
During the first days of Eid Al Adha, from August 31 – September 2, shopper will have the opportunity to double their chances of winning a AED5,000 gift card as part of the mall’s Back to School campaign.
The malls are offering incredible grand prizes for parents too, with the winners announced on the final day of the promotion. City Centre Deira will give away an incredible prize to one lucky shopper and pay for AED 25,000 towards tuition fees for their offspring.
While City Centre Me’aisem, City Centre Al Shindagha and My City Centre Al Barsha are partnering with Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) to offer shoppers a chance to nominate a student of their choice to win a scholarship worth AED25,000 each.
During such an exciting time for kids, and for parents after a long summer, Majid Al Futtaim’s malls in Dubai are the destinations to shop for back to school supplies, enjoy educational fun before class is back in session and spend quality time together creating great memories for the whole family.
